Reflections #2

What?

My group had four people (two students and two conversation partners). We talked about several things. We introduced ourselves. Then, one of the conversation partners was asking many questions about Saudi Arabia because both my friend and I from S.A. I noticed that the man who was in my group is new. In addition, the last time students are divided to two groups, and each group was in a different room.

 So what?

I was more confident when I was talking last time, but the only thing that I faced is that one of my conversation partners had problem with hearing. When I start talking, she interrupted me and she said that could you please speak more loudly. Sometimes I repeat what I said 3 times. Actually, I learned that I have to learn vocabulary because sometimes I could not explain what I want to say because my vocabulary is weak. In addition, when the conversation partners were asking me, I asked them about the words that I did not understand.

One of the conversation partners was interested to know everything about Saudi Arabia. He asked about education system, health services, and what he should know before coming to Saudi Arabia such as, greeting between men and women and how men treat strange women in public places.

I thought that talking with old people is very boring because we are not from their generation. We have different ages and thoughts, but what I noticed that not all the old people are the same. Some of them have the same thought that the young people have. That surprised me.

Now what?

Keeping the conversation following is not that much easy for me if the conversation partner does not ask me questions. So, I will prepare several questions and topics and keep them in my mind just in case, but every time the conversation goes very well. I realized that every time I learn new vocabulary, but the problem is that I did not write them down to practice and use them. In the next time, I will bring a notebook and a pen to write down what I learn.
